The Leslie Marshall Show: Police Brutality, Gun Violence Prevention, and COVID-19
Criminal Justice Reform, Gun Violence Prevention
Although COVID-19 continues to reshape many elements of our lives, several incidents in past weeks have served as painful reminders that threat of gun violence and the harm that the U.S. criminal legal system inflicts on Black Americans continue in full force in spite of the pandemic. Generation Progress guest hosts Brent J. Cohen and Edwith Theogene used this week’s GP Takeover of the Leslie Marshall Show to speak with Greg Jackson, the national advocacy director of the Community Justice Action Fund, and Tia Bell, founder of the T.R.I.G.G.E.R. Project, about several of these recent incidents of state-sanctioned violence against Black Americans and what must be done to dismantle the racist criminal legal system that currently exists.
