Hannah Finnie is a Senior Policy and Communications Associate for Generation Progress. Prior to joining the Generation Progress team full time, Hannah wrote for the Generation Progress Voices Network, where she covered gun violence and criminal justice issues. She has also contributed to publications including The Atlantic, the Huffington Post, The Nation, Mic, and Ms. Magazine, among others.
Finnie graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she received a B.A. in mathematics and political science and served as the national student director of STAND, a student-led anti-genocide organization. She also worked to change her university’s policies regarding undocumented students, running media efforts and strategic planning to ensure that admitted undocumented students would receive financial aid packages equal to those of their documented peers.
